What we take
What we take, and where it goes
Almost everything in a normal home, garden or office, we handle — and most of it is reused or recycled rather than thrown away. Here is exactly what we collect, what we can't take, and where it all ends up.
What we collect
If it is in the way and it fits through the door, we almost certainly take it. The everyday list includes:
- Furniture — sofas, armchairs, beds, mattresses, wardrobes, tables, chairs, desks, cabinets and bookcases. See furniture removal.
- Appliances & electronics — fridges, freezers, washing machines, dryers, dishwashers, ovens, TVs, computers and small electricals. See appliance removal.
- Household junk — boxes, clothes, toys, kitchenware, books, bikes, décor and general clutter.
- Garden & green waste — branches, cuttings, turf, soil, planters and garden furniture. See garden waste removal.
- Office & commercial — desks, chairs, cabinets, partitions and IT. See office clearance.
What we can't take
A few things need a licensed or specialist route rather than a general van. We will always tell you upfront and point you the right way:
- Construction and renovation debris — rubble, plasterboard, tiles and hardcore
- Asbestos and materials containing it
- Hazardous chemicals, solvents, fuels and large quantities of paint
- Gas bottles and pressurised cylinders
- Large volumes of tyres
- Clinical or medical waste
Small amounts of household paint or a single gas bottle we can sometimes advise on; just ask when you send your photos.
Where it all goes
Nothing we collect is fly-tipped — that is a promise, not a slogan. Usable furniture and household goods are taken to reuse charities such as the Kringwinkel and Les Petits Riens so they get a second life. Appliances and electronics go to registered WEEE recycling. Green waste is composted where possible, and wood, metal, cardboard, glass and textiles are separated for the correct recycling streams at the regional centres. Only what genuinely cannot be reused or recycled goes to general waste, and we keep that share as small as we can.
